SICAF is the largest animation/comic festival in Korea. I've been going there since I was 15 and I'm so happy that it is still going on. Their animation selection is one of the best I've ever seen and the comic exhibition includes wonderful collections.

You can draw your own and they make it into badges. I drew a smiling face. :-)

It's on my blue bag along with the pink face man that I made for the art walk last year. Allie ate the pink man's left arm.

You can also draw your own character! Mine is a cute baby with triple eyes.

Me and Allie and my husband came to Korea for summer. In terms of weather, it's not a good time to visit Seoul but we usually spend our summer vacation here and hang out with our family and friends. This is the first time for Allie to travel outside of the states and so far it seems like she's having a good time. Here, they don't have such thing as dog park so we brought Allie to a 'dog cafe' where bunch of dogs can socialize in a coffee shop. I'm doing some quick sketches there with Allie on the floor.

This is my first digital painting. I used Photoshop and Wacom tablet. Somehow, I always doubted that using computer for your art can be so efficient and easy. Finally, I learned that I actually enjoy using tablet and it is, in a way, very convenient compare to traditional paint.

Stuffed Doll - Work in progress

This is a sketch of a girl holding a fish. I'm going to hand paint it and make it into a stuffed doll. Once it's done, I'll upload it on Etsy for sale. Hope it goes well.

This is the doll that I'm working on these days. The silver thing that she is holding on the lower picture is a mask. I'm still thinking if I should put it on her face or now. Hate to cover her cute face with it but that was the original idea. We'll see how it looks once it's done.

This puppet was made a while ago and I couldn't come up with the right background so it has been sitting on my desk for a couple of months. Now my desk feels empty without it. :-)

Somehow, this girl's face remind me so much of my puppy Allie. They look a like in a weird way. Maybe it's just the facial expression that resembles. This puppet is currently resting by my window waiting for me to finish her background.

This puppet is two puppets (one dead and the other one looking at it) connected to each other as one. The picture below is right after it is taken out from the oven still in wire form. The above is a close up shot of the dead one (it's the one that is lying down). I've never painted anyone so pale like this and I actually like this face a lot. I still haven't figured out the right title for it. Deciding on a title is always the hardest part!

This girl with redhead is about 31 inches long. The longest puppet I have ever made! I usually use a letter size paper to sketch out the structure for the piece but for this one I had to tape three pieces of paper. This was my first time using a sewing machine to make the costume of my puppet. Without it, I don’t think I could’ve finished sewing in couple of hours. This picture was taken right before I made her curl.

Clay puppet on clay tongue

This piece was originally a painting that I did in undergrad. I was going thorough difficult time back then in communicating with people and I was hurt emotionally very often. However, I really liked the painting that I did. I come up with better idea when I'm more sensitive and vulnerable.

Crying cloud head girl in a yellow chair. The three little people are drawn on paper with markers and are made to stand by themselves. I was surprised to see how they look so natural in the picture with nice shadows. I have thoset same purple converse shoes.
